During the last few years of work, my father relocated frenetically to Pollena Trocchia near Naples, as my grandparents, who lived in Sulmona, Abruzzi, were getting old (keep in mind that flying and flight routes in Italy were not so popular as they are nowadays).

Due to this, our family "risked" relocating from Genoa to Naples, but my mother, wisely, strongly opposed this. In the end, they managed to buy another house in the same building in Genoa, where my grandparents relocated. However, they have lived separately during the week for almost five years.

On my right there is Dario Giudice, my high school deskmate, who he is wearing a white striped shirt too. At that time, there were no mobiles, and we used to call each other using the fixed telephone. I still have most of their fixed telephone numbers. highschoolclass

A picture of my family at lunch in our house (2007)
The guest on the extreme right, Francesco Reggio nicknamed Franco from Strevi - Piedmont was another executive from Italsider the biggest italian steel company who has worked extensively with my father and who also attended ESCS meetings in Brussels. In 2023 on my homecity local newspaper Secolo XIX there was a news about the death of Giovanni Gambardella from Apulia, a manager who reorganized the steel company in the late eighties after it was named back to Ilva (Ilva was the original name which mean in latin Elba Island, an island in Tuscany mostly known for its sea tourism, but it had also a lot of iron ore deposit used to fuel the blast furnaces of the steel company); what is odd is that he looks quite similar to my father friend, here it is a double picture of them for comparison, however either Francesco Reggio or my father never spoke of him at our weekly lunch on sundays. luch2007
